Ararimu School
Ararimu School, a small rural school, replaced its failed wastewater system with an AdvanTex rtPBR. This compact, high-performance treatment plant handles fluctuating loads and has lockable covers for safety. The irrigation field, with subsurface drip lines and low loading, ensures no health risks. The new system was installed in one week
Custom Solutions for Schools & Churches
Orenco's AdvanTex Treatment Systems provide custom wastewater solutions for schools and churches. The systems are ideal for these facilities because they are designed to handle highly variable flows and waste strengths. The multi-pass, packed-bed filter technology ensures increased process stability and a more consistent effluent quality than conventional activated sludge systems
Design Considerations for Schools & Churches
Orenco's AdvanTex Treatment Systems provide custom wastewater solutions for schools and churches. They are designed to handle highly variable flows and waste strengths. This technology offers increased process stability and consistent effluent quality. The treated effluent can often be reused for irrigation
Schools Case Studies
Innoflow Technologies provides scalable and cost-effective AdvanTex wastewater systems for rural schools, designed to handle fluctuating loads and produce high-quality treated effluent for reuse and irrigation. The document features case studies of systems installed at Waiheke School and Okatu School.
Wapsie Valley High School, Iowa, USA
Wapsie Valley High School, faced with a failed drainfield and surfacing wastewater, installed an AdvanTex® AX100 Wastewater Treatment System. The compact system was chosen for its ability to handle the school's highly variable wastewater flows and its high-quality effluent. The new system allowed the old drainfield to be rehabilitated and put back into use.
Dairy Flat School
Dairy Flat School, in North Auckland, replaced its hazardous wastewater system with a Pro-Tech PBR (packed bed reactor). The new system treats effluent to be reused for flushing toilets, using a chlorine management system. The installation was completed safely and without disrupting school service
Puni School
Puni School, a rural school near Pukekohe, needed a new wastewater system after the old one failed and became a health hazard. A Pro-Tech rPBR packed-bed reactor was chosen due to its small size, allowing the school to preserve its limited recreational areas. The system was designed for future expansion and the irrigation field, which uses New Zealand native plants, will be expanded as the school grows.
Audubon Education Centre, California, USA
The Audubon Education Centre in Los Angeles, a LEED Platinum facility, uses an Orenco AdvanTex Textile Treatment System to go off the sewer grid. The system provides high-quality treated wastewater, which is reused for irrigation and will be used for toilet flushing. The system is so effective that the effluent is "as clear as drinking water".
Lagunitas Elementary, Lagunitas, California, USA
Lagunitas Elementary School in California's Marin County replaced its failing septic system with a recirculating sand filter (RSF). The new system is monitored by an Orenco TCOM control panel with remote telemetry, which allows operators to check for high-flow events and leaking fixtures. This has replaced costly "pump & haul" services.
Warren, Vermont, USA
Warren Elementary School in Vermont replaced a failing septic system with an Orenco AdvanTex Treatment System. Chosen for its compact size and high performance, the system fits into a small footprint and quickly reduced BOD and TSS. An award-winning design, it's monitored remotely and now serves as an EPA National Demonstration System.
Pembroke School, New Plymouth,
Facing an aging system and increased student numbers, Pembroke School in New Plymouth upgraded to a new, low-cost wastewater solution. The Innoflow-supplied system uses septic tanks with an Orenco® ProSTEP™ pumping kit to filter solids and pump effluent to conventional beds, providing a safe, effective, and low-risk solutions.

I have been involved with Innoflow / Orenco systems since the mid 90’s when on-site treatment systems first started to appear in NZ. Since then, I have installed all types of systems and have even been overseas to look at different types of technologies. Based on my nearly 30 years of experience, I believe the Advantex treatment system is as good as it gets. To back that up, I have just installed one at my own new build and wouldn’t consider anything else. No other system/technology gives long term reliable performance, with minimal maintenance, low running costs and high-quality componentry that all together produces a very high level of treatment, while still being a good looking system visually once installed.

My practice specialises in wastewater treatment solutions for schools, marae, camping grounds and domestic dwellings. In my opinion the Advantex (USA) range of sewage treatment systems are the best designed and supported systems available in New Zealand. The design, construction and operation of the Advantex system process is superior to any other system process available and I have found that it can be relied upon to perform to the highest levels required by council and government regulations.
